Su 30 Fighters - The Sukhoi Su-30 (Russian: Сухой Су-30; NATO reporting name: Flanker-C/G/H) is a two-seat supermaneuver fighter jet developed in the Soviet Union by the Sukhoi Aviation Corporation of Russia. It is a multirole fighter for all-weather, air-to-air and airborne missions.
The Su-30 began as an internal development project within the Sukhoi Su-27 family by Sukhoi. From the Su-27UB two-seat trainer, the Su-27PU heavy interceptor was developed. The design plans changed and the Su-27PU was designated as the Su-30 by the Russian Defense Ministry in 1996. From the Flanker family, the Su-27, Su-30, Su-33, Su-34 and Su-35 have ordered in limited or serial production by the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Then, different export requirements split the Su-30 into two categories of different parts, produced by competing organizations: KnAAPO and Irkut Corporation, both under the umbrella of the Sukhoi Aerospace group.
Su 30 Fighters
KnAAPO produced the Su-30MKK and Su-30MK2, which were designed for and sold to China, and then Indonesia, Uganda, Vezuela, and Vietnam. Due to KnAAPO's participation from the early stages of Su-35 development, this is a two-seat special version of the mid-1990 Su-35. The Kannada opted for an older but lighter radar so the canard could be retracted for an increased payload. It is a fighter with air power and strike capabilities, similar to the US F-15E Strike Eagle.
Sukhoi Su 27 & 30/33/34/35
Irkut traditionally served the Soviet Air Defse and, in the early years of Flanker development, was responsible for building the Su-27UB, a two-seat trainer. When India expressed interest in the Su-30, Irkut offered the multirole Su-30MKI, which is derived from the Su-27UB modified with avionics suitable for fighters. Along with ground attack capabilities, the series added features for superior air force, such as canards, thrust-vectoring, and long-range radar. Its derivatives include the Su-30MKM, MKA, and SM for Malaysia, Algeria, and Russia. The Russian Air Force operates several Su-30s and has also ordered the Su-30SM variant.
While the original Su-27 had good range, it was still not large enough for the Soviet Air Force (PVO, as opposed to VVS - Soviet Air Force). Air Defense Forces are needed to cover the size of the Soviet Union. Therefore, development began in 1986 on the Su-27PU, an enhanced power variant of the Su-27 that could serve as a long-range interceptor or air command post.
The Su-27UB two-seat fighter was chosen as the basis for the Su-27PU, because it has the performance of a single-seat Su-27 with room for two crew. The "proof-of-concept" demonstration flew on May 6, 1987, and this success led to the start of development work on two Su-27PU prototypes. The first Su-27PU flew in Irkutsk on 31 December 1989, and the first of three pre-production models flew on 14 April 1992.

The Su-30 is quite a fighter. It has a two seater cockpit with an airplane behind the hood. You can be a top air fighter and attack fighter.
The integrated aerodynamic configuration, combined with thrust vectoring control capabilities, results in high maneuverability and exceptional clearance and landing characteristics. Equipped with a fly-by-wire digital engine, the Su-30 can perform many advanced maneuvers, including Pugachev's Cobra and similar. This technique quickly decelerates the aircraft, causing the fighters to overshoot, as well as the agreement Doppler radar-lock, as the relative speed of the aircraft drops below the thresholds where the signals register the radar.
Some variants of Su-30, especially Su-30MKI and its derivatives including Su-30MKM and Su-30SM, are equipped with canards to improve maneuverability and also to balance N011M Bars radar and mission systems of it is heavy in the nose. Canards and the LERX adjustment help to control the twists and limit the angle of attack of the airfoil, but also increase the drag, and reduce the maximum speed to Mach 1.75.
Similar to the basic Su-27S/P, the Su-30's power plant incorporates two Saturn AL-31F afterburning low-bypass turbofan engines, fed by an intake ramp. Two AL-31Fs, each with 122.6 kN (27,600 lbf) at full throttle for speeds up to Mach 2 in flight level and a speed of 1,350 km/h at low altitude for the non-canard variant. A left-handed reaction is used in some variations to improve performance.

With a normal fuel reserve of 5,270 kg, the Su-30MK can perform a 4.5-hour mission with a range of 3,000 km. The antenna booster system increases the range to 5,200 km (3,200 mi) or the flight duration to 10 hours at cruising altitude.
The aircraft has autopilot capability in all levels of the flight with high altitude aircraft in the following radar position, and individual and group combat operations against air and land/sea targets. The automatic control system connected to the navigation system ensures the flight path, target approach, recovery to the airport and landing in automatic mode.
In 1994 – 1996, the first batch of five original Su-30 (Su-27PU) fighter jets, contracted for the Russian Defense Ministry, were delivered to the 54th Guards Fighter Aviation Regimt based at the air base Savasleyka.
After the regime was dissolved in 2002, the aircraft became part of the 4th Ctre for Combat Employmt and Retraining Personnel in Lipetsk, which is regularly operated by the Russian Falcons aerobatic team.

There are no more orders of these variations. However, the Ministry of Defense of Russia was impressed by the export performance of the Su-30MKI and ordered a total of 60 Su-30SM fighters, under two contracts signed in March and December 2012.
By d 2015, the 31st Fighter Aviation Regimt, the last bad regiment of the Russian Air Force to operate Soviet-made MiG-29A/UBs (izdeliye 9.12/9.13) was fully armed with about twenty new Su-30SM fighters .
This is to increase the total number to 116 (88 in the Air Force and 28 in the Navy).
In October-November 2016, eight new aircraft were delivered to the Russian Knights aerobatic team, replacing the team's six Su-27 fighters. The plane is located at Kubinka airport, Moscow Oblast.

During the 2017 MAKS International Aviation and Space Salon, it was announced that the Russian Defense Ministry and Irkut Corporation are working to update the Russian Su-30SM fighter jet to the new "Su-30SM1" standard. Modernization is aimed at improving the avionics and armamt of the aircraft.
In August 2019, the Russian Defense Ministry first signed a contract for an undisclosed number of modernized Su-30SM2 fighter jets (referred to as Su-30SM1). The first delivery to the Russian Air Force is scheduled for the end of 2020 with serial deliveries to begin in 2021. The aircraft will receive the N035 Irbis and AL-41F1S radars from the Su-35S, which should scale and reduce operating costs of both. differences. Aramt of the aircraft will also be equipped with new KAB-250 air bombs and Kh-59MK2 cruise missiles. It is planned to modernize all Russian Su-30SM to SM2 standard.
On August 25, 2020, the contract for 21 modern Su-30SM2 aircraft for the Russian Navy was signed at the "ARMY-2020" military technology conference.

The first talks about getting a new fighter for the Indian Air Force began in 1994. A year later, the Sukhoi Design Center began working on a new fighter based on the original Su-30 design, which later evolved into the Su-30MK (Modernizirovannyi). Kommercheskiy - Modern Business) and finally it became Su-30MKI (Modernizirovannyi Kommercheskiy Indiski - India Modern Business).
On November 30, 1996, the Russian state company Rosvooruzhie (now Rosoboronexport) and the Ministry of Defense of India signed a contract for the development and production of eight Su-30K and 32 Su-30MKI for the Indian Air Force.
